Six reasons to visit Farm Shop in Mayfair
by Janine KelsoFollowing the success of their existing store at their farm in Bruton, Somerset, Mayfair’s highly anticipated Farm Shop has now opened on South Audley Street. The new 4000 sq ft shop is just a short stroll from its much-lauded sister properties The Audley Public House and Mount St. Restaurant. Here are six reasons to visit this exciting new farm shop:
Shop for award-winning farm products
Mayfair’s Farm Shop stocks the same fresh and seasonal products as its Somerset Farm Shop at Durslade Farm in Bruton, with many ingredients coming from its 1000-acre free-range farm. Star turns include wine created from grapes grown on the estate; honey from its hives; cider from the orchard; and specially created spirits, using waste and by-products from Roth Bar & Grill and the Walled Garden.
Indulge in grab-and-go lunch and coffee
Pick up moreish cheese toasties and hearty hot beef sandwiches, generously filled with the farm’s own meat, or high-quality coffee from South West England roastery Mozzo.
Browse produce from local artisans
Farm Shop stocks products from emerging and established local artisans within South West England, including We are Kombucha, The Chocolate Society and Psychopomp Microdistillery.
Treat yourself to high-welfare meat
Farm Shop is home to a separate butchery room where you can buy high-welfare meat, which supports good levels of animal welfare. On sale at the Farm Shop butcher are Durslade Farm’s very own lamb and beef. The butchery room is accessible through the shop, as well as having its own entrance on Aldford Street.
Discover the shop’s wild food range
The shop’s hyper-seasonal wild food range has been created by in-house forager Kenny Jelfs. Other highlights include a wide selection of cheese, wine and honeycomb, as well as other condiments, rubs and sauces made in the shop’s kitchen. Fresh fruit and vegetables are also on offer, as well as an abundance of heavenly baked goods.
Enjoy wine, cheese and charcuterie in the downstairs wine bar
After shopping for fresh products, head downstairs to discover the shop's fabulous new wine bar. A tucked-away gem in the heart of Mayfair, you can enjoy a glass of wine alongside cheese, charcuterie and sharing plates. The bar is open from Monday to Saturday, from 12pm to 10pm, and on Sunday from 12pm to 4pm. No reservation required.
